1ST Jany 1917. Dull day and no view. No ballooning. Went to No2 and transferred about 7500 ft of gas from their new balloon to nurse balloon. Shortened valve line of new balloon and put gas back.

2nd Jany 1917. Rather windy day. Too much for ballooning.

Went to No 9 with Col and inflated their new balloon. Whilst there saw “Times” for yesterday and saw Col Mcneece had got D S O in New Years Honours list. Very delighted.

Visited No 15 in afternoon and examined their winch. P71 knock in engine.
