Got up at 4.30am and went round to Nos2, 38 and 32 Sections and delivered instruments to replace those destroyed yesterday.
BM118D (No 2 Sectn) inflated with tubes and in air by 9am.
BM131D (No 32 Sectn) inflated with tubes and in air by 9am.
FM90D (No 38Sectn) inflated with tubes and in air by 9am.
At 11am a Hostile aeroplane attacked No 32 (BM131) and burnt it. It was then making its first ascent. Fletcher and Griffiths made successful parachute descents.
BM128 issued in replacement. 100 tubes received from 1AD at midday by their lorries and sent to No 32 BM128 was inflated with air and examined and inflated with gas on 25th June. 7 lorries sent to No 1 AD for further gas.
BM 45 (No15) broke away at 2pm. The winch operators allowed all the cable to unwind and the balloon went across the lines. Church was up and tried to rip but without result. He parachuted and landed in Ypres.
