6th Nov 1917

Zero hour at 6am. Attack launched at Passchendaele, which was captured before 10am.

Rain commenced about 11am and it rained hard till 3pm.

Went to No 18 Section and balloon and everything all right.

Called at 11th Coy and went into question of telephones with Bolitho. Work being done on Coy Transport Park.

Visited No 39 Section and inspected balloon bed. Ascertained balloon net was rotten and arranged to obtain a new one. Also 2 new shock absorbers.

Called at 11th Coy and explained to Nicholson that Silicol plant must go back to 1AD on the 8th.

 

7th Nov 1917

Wet morning. Fair view for an hour between squalls in afternoon. Balloons up and 5 targets registered.

Called at 11th Coy and left C ii telephone and other stores.

Saw Meyler and discussed events with him.
