No 18 Sectn balloon hit by shrapnel on ground.

11th Coy shelled whilst I was there.

 

8th Nov 1917

Fine morning. Fair visibility at times, but patchy. Balloons up.

Went to 8th Coy in morning and took over gas purity meter from 5th Balloon Wing. Howard explained how it works.

 

9th Nov 1917

Fine all day. View fairly good.

Balloons up. 38 targets done.

EO’s meeting here this morning when amendments to G.1098 were discussed and notes made.

No 9 Section had two Armstrong Huts burnt last night.

Completed Court of Enquiry on lost watches.

Nos 16 and 47 Sections shelled but no damage done.
