29 WED. Cold day and frost. Major and Gilling returned from leave in middle of the night. Feeling better today, but not quite fit. No ballooning.

30 Thurs. Very cold and severe frost. Temp at breakfast in mess was 39o Major and I dined at No 15, No ballooning.

 

Dec 1st FRI. Hard frost and very foggy. Campbell and I went to 2nd Wing in afternoon and inspected their letter files etc. Had tea there, no ballooning.

2 SAT. Very cold foggy day. Freezing hard, All trees still white with frost. Went to Hazebruck with Wilkins in afternoon and bought chairs etc for Major. No ballooning.

3 SUN. Advent Sunday. Very thick cold day but not so cold as yesterday. Freezing hard. Childs and Russell came to tea. No ballooning. Walked to No2 in morning.
