29 MON. Push biked into Colchester to see Governor but he was out. Had to shove off before lighting up time so did not see him. Called on Judge who was very ill.

30 TUES. Shooting with Capt Kelso. Partridges and Pheasants. Very cold. Fair sport.

31 WED. Went to Nayland in afternoon with Hawkins and shot duck. Lots about and plenty of Snipe. Walked back to Horkesley. Did not stay to flight.

 

Feb 1 THUR. Brenda and I went to London and stayed at Strand Palace. Called on Russell at 15a Queensboro Terrace. We went to “High Jinks” at Adelphi. Very good.

2 FRI. Still very cold and freezing hard. Skating on Serpentine and other lakes in London. Russell, Mrs R, Brenda and I went to Razzle Dazzle. Dined at Trocedero.

3 SAT. Brenda and I went shopping in morning and turned in early. No theatre.

4 SUN. Septuagesima. Lunched with Aunt Annie and Mrs Phelps. Went to pictures in evening.
